Super User flyfisher Posted May 10, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 10, 2018 I thought you said you weren't going to post anymore? Because the posts you have made haven't really provided any insight. NBA has always been top heavy, always. Quote

You just love to argue with me. I proved that already. But you don't know me from Adam, just have a man crush. I made more sense in one post than you have in the entire thread. I will wait till HOU or GS wins it all to confirm what I said to begin with. Trust the process. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 10, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 10, 2018 how does GSW or houston winning it all confirm anything? Oh that's right, it doesn't. Now you can go back to your little hole and stop trying to argue for the sake of arguing.... And I promise you I know more about basketball and have played at a higher level than you ever have but anyone who has read your posts can already see that isn't a very high bar to jump. So I will just let it go.... Cleveland and boston should be a good series and Lebron is playing like a man possessed even with the team that is around him not doing much. The GS and houston matchup doesn't appeal to me as much because it is going to be a three fest and that isn't the style i prefer but I will still watch for sure. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 I am not a Lebron fan but I don't dislike him either. However, it does say alot for him to have been in the finals for 7 straight years. You have to back to the Bill Russell Celtics to see a streak like that. Magic went to the finals 9 times in 12 years (longest streak 4 years in a row), Bird went 5 times in 7 years (4 in a row), Jordan 6 times in 8 years (3 in a row twice), Kobe 7 times in 11 years (3 in a row twice) and Duncan 6 times in 16 years. What Lebron is doing hasn't happened in over 50 years and he is the only player in history who wasn't a member of that Bill Russell led Celtics to do it... 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 10, 2018 Global Moderator Posted May 10, 2018 Boston is playing some really good hoops 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted May 11, 2018 Super User Posted May 11, 2018 Go Celtics! I never would have imagined they would get this far given who they have injured, but that team is tough and has no quit. Quote

And again I don't know you from Adam and while i am sure you enjoy having men crush on you, I don't swing that way. You are actually a pretty disturbed person and probably should seek some professional help. So why don't you just go play with your buddies unless you'd like to add some actual NBA conversation here. 1 Quote

Sure, when you make two posts on this forum within a few minutes it combines the posts. So, I just put the new post in with the first post so it wasn't at the bottom. Nothing says stalker like taking a screen shot of a forum post. LOL!!!!!!! When I want to have some actual conversation about the NBA I will look for someone who doesn't think Philly has a chance and who doesn't think HOU or GS could go out in the first round. Check your notifications, I'm sure you have one set for when I post. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 11, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 11, 2018 I didn't take a screen shot little boy, it was my email alert for the thread and ironically enough i never got one for the second alleged post you made that was combines...you really are a sad individual. So like you said, just go somewhere else and let the knowledgable people talk about basketball. Oh and I never once said I thought philly could win it all. 1 Quote

Nothing about 16-3 (after tonight) in the conference semis screams parity to me. LOL!!!!!! But some of you guys saw GS or HOU getting bounced in the first round. There is some insightful analysis here but ya I totally agree the NBA has minimal parity in terms of championship caliber teams. The GS-Houston winner will def be a heavy favorite in the finals and I would like to see the Rockets win. Quote

Usually one conference has a few teams that are capable of winning it all and the other has maybe 1 or at most 2. 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 12, 2018 Global Moderator Posted May 12, 2018 The lakers and Celtics alone have won something like half of all championships, so there hasn’t been a ton of parity in the past. Throw in spurs and bulls and it seems 4 teams have won nearly all championships. the future is looking very bright in Boston when Hayward and Irving return from injury, the next several years could just add to the Celtics history Quote

There have been 71 NBA titles, the Celtics (17) & Lakers (16) have 46% of them. It was 52% in 2010, 53% in 2003, 64% in 1988 and 70% in 1969. Both the Celtics & the Lakers have at least as many titles as the next top 3 teams combined (Bulls, Warriors & Spurs) Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted May 12, 2018 Super User Posted May 12, 2018 The Celtics also won a lot of those championships when there were a handful of teams in the league. They have only won 4 since the league had more than 22 teams, and 9 of them were won against 12 or less teams. That's less than each conference has now. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted May 12, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 12, 2018 Basketball lends itself to a team winning a few and then being ousted by another team even if the first team comes back later, as in the case of the lakers, spurs, bulls etc... Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 14, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 14, 2018 Cleveland came out flat tonight for sure. Guess we will see if LeBron has enough in the tank to carry the cavs in another series. Quote

The sequence where LBJ stood on the baseline to complain about a non-call and didn’t cross his own three point line, while the Celtics went 5 on 4 to score kinda said it all regarding Game 1. I’m looking forward to tonight’s game, should be a good one. Go Dubs! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 15, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 15, 2018 A buddy and I were talking about LeBron and I mentioned that maybe it is a possibility that LeBron does this on purpose. I mean he knows he is the best on the court so once things get out of hand he just bags it, gets the extra rest and forces the rest of the team to pick it up and see what happens. It will be interesting tomorrow night for sure Quote

Even the big guys are running circles around the very slow Cavs team that doesn't like to play defense. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 18, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 18, 2018 Boston is very long and athletic and well coached. Should be interesting to see what happens in Cleveland. Golden state looked tired last night and a Houston wasn't about to lose a second game at home. What is the over under on how many games to Green gets tossed? Quote
