No new models currently, but there are thousands upon thousands in service at this very moment.  I'll bet a few them make Megabass a favorite.

They have the new MB Rhodium. It’s quite a let down imo but it’s a new offering.

My point was why would we exclude MB from a list of favorites?

I mean, they don't make the Cu50e anymore, but it's still a favorite.

I was pointing out they have a new offering available at this time.

If I am partial to any brands it's Daiwa and Pflueger. Pflueger has a great bang for the buck with their under $100 reels as well as good upper end reels, and it's hard to beat Daiwa reels like the BG or Tatula SV.

It kinda just looks like a knock off tatutula

Megabass reels are built off Daiwa platform reels.  It *should* resemble some current Daiwa model.

It’s built off the tatula platform. MB always builds off an existing Daiwa reel. It was a pretty big let down for a lot of Daiwa enthusiasts. Definitely would of liked to see them build off the Steez sv tw or something cooler than the tatula. You release a reel like the ito gambler monoblock and then follow it up with the rhodium. Kick in the b*lls really.

ABU round casting reels. Shimano spinning reels. These have worked well for me for 30+ years. Many other good ones out there now.

Quantum is first on my list followed by shimano

My favorite is Shimano, followed by Daiwa. I believe that they are 2 of the companies that build reels in their own factories, not contracted out.

I believe Okuma reels are built in their own factory as well.

I enjoy this forum and reading the articles, it's a great place. I've learned ALOT just in my little time here. I've read articles for years, but just recently decided to join the forum.

It just shocked and kinda upset me that the brand reels that I fish with, put money into, and are proud of can't even be mentioned here.

It’s interesting to me with how popular the pro qualifier has been over the years that it got no mentions....either bass pro or the PQ itself.

Maybe people don’t think of it as a “brand”?

I have never owned one but have been tempted when they put them on sale.

All of BassPros reels are built by OEM reel manufacturers that also build many other companies reels such as Abu Garcia, Lews, Pfleugar, etc. It comes down to branding. I am sure a reel tech such as DVT could provide more information. How do the internals, components, etc compare?
