Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, so I would like to say thank you for any feedback that is given . I wanted to start getting my rigs sorted out for different techniques, so i know which ones to take for beginning tournaments. There is a lot of information out there and it is pretty overwhelming. I currently own a st croix triumph 7' medium fast, a bass pro tournament med-heavy fast 7', and an okuma celios med-light 7'4 fast. These are all spinning, and I am going to be going next week to get a baitcasting setup. What techniques can i already cover with what i have? Again, thanks for any help, I have scanned over this forum and it seems like everyone is pretty cool here.

I only carry one spinning outfit but If was limited to that:

7’4” ML/F - Dropshot, Ned rig

7’ M/F - lipless cranks, square bills, Chatterbaits, or spinnerbaits

7’ MH/F - Weighted t-rigged plastics or jigs

That the best I can come up with but you will get more opinions.

Thanks for the reply! My next rig will be a baitcasting setup, would you have any recommendations on what I should be focused on adding?

A 7' or longer medium heavy/fast or moderate fast rod with a 7:1 reel will cover a lot of techniques besides deep cranking.

Hey thanks alot! Is there any reason for me to include a heavy rod in my setup? Or will a medium heavy be fine for anything i need done with the straight heavy?

Frogging? I use a mh but I don’t have like any vegetation where I fish and there aren’t huge bass around here, it’s really your decision without knowing the conditions and the size of your bass.
