haggard Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 I got a Hook4 Nav+ a few months ago on closeout and installed it, but haven't done anything with the Nav+ feature, and thought I'd get started now. I'm new to finders and Nav+. Does the Nav+ feature just mean it supports Nav+ but you buy a card (filled with data) separately from Navionics, or should the unit come with a card and data set already, out of the box? The Hook4 manual isn't too helpful here, just shows me how to insert an SD card but nothing about Navionics+. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 5, 2018 Super User Posted April 5, 2018 I've owned a bunch of units in the last 20 years and not one of them ever came with a card. 1 Quote
haggard Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 Okay I didn't think so but I'm new at this so just had to ask. Thanks Jig Man. Quote
haggard Posted April 8, 2018 Author Posted April 8, 2018 I have two identical finders. If I buy a Navionics+ card, can I share it between the two finders, or is the card tied to a specific device? Quote
Super User WRB Posted April 9, 2018 Super User Posted April 9, 2018 Try contacting Lowrance technical support or Navonics technical support. Upgrades are normally a download but I am not sure about the newer units. Tom Quote
haggard Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I phoned Lowrance support and the guy says I can use a single card on multiple devices; the card isn't tied to a specific one. Quote
