GoneFishingLTN Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 I got out to the lake everything worked great. But when I got to about 4 mph it became blurry and unable to read this can’t be right... details about my units are below Carbon 12 3d structure scan maps nav plat Structure scan/down scan/ 2d Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Where is your structure scan and your 83/200 transducer located? Are they being pulled out of the water when you start going up on plane? Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 This is the set up. Do I need to switch to anything different when going faster? Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 Yes do you see something wrong? Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 I cant say for sure but I bet they are pulling out of the water. The 3d is where I have mine and it does come out of the water. I do this to keep from knocking it off at speed plus they wont read at speed either. On the 83/200 Is that an aluminum or glass boat? if its glass boat I'd epoxy it to the inside of the boat. I do not know if you can do that to aluminum boats. Almost all glass bass boats have the 83/200 in the bilge are of the boat. In the OM look at page 20. It will show you locations and pros/cons of each location. You will also need to level the 3d transducer to how the boat sits in the water. It will clear up your picture. Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 It’s a 2005 v-18 tracker. I had them installed by a marina and hope nothing is wrong since I know nothing about them. Is it common not to read around 4mph I thought most people could see there’s on 8mph and more Quote
Super User WRB Posted April 6, 2018 Super User Posted April 6, 2018 Put a flat board on the bottom of the hull extending out under the TD, the TD should resting on the board flat about 1/4" below the hulls surface. I would reverse the location of the TD's to reduce prop wash affects. You need a round puck trolling motor type TD to expozy inside the hulls sump area. The small TD should work on a plane. Get 3M 5200 marine sealant to seal the holes and fasteners. Tom Quote
