I have this boat.  http://media.trackermarinegroup.com/tracker/images/TPT190TXRDT07_BMT_07_700.jpg  Is there a way to install led lights, or lights of some sort, around the deck for night fishing.  I'm not trying to illuminate the water or put out a lot of watts.  I merely want to illuminate the deck or edge of deck to help see my rods and give a little light for retying etc.  I would prefer amber or red lights over white.   Thanks for any suggestions.

BPS and Cabelas sell a variety of interior lights of different types that would suit your needs.

Be careful of the light you choose. Regular white lights will ruin your night vision.  I suggest using red lights. LED or incandescent does not matter. LEDs will use less power.

I saw this guy who had the rope lights around the deck.  He had a 12V socket plug rigged from his battery, then had a cheap inverter in that, and plugged the rope lights plugged into that.  Had all of that rigged to a switch.  Seemed like a pretty good idea, it illuminated the bottom of the boat pretty well.  A buddy of mine has those round battery operated lights that you press to turn on.  Those work good but I don't know if they come in red.

If you can't find red check your auto parts stores for silicone bulb covers.  I put them on all my dash lights to make them red and it has really cut down the glare from them.

If I used white lights around here the 'skitters would eat me up in no time.  I just use the black light and cats eyes on my hat.  Let us know how this venture works out for you.

I installed the cabala rope light in my rod locker. Plenty of light.  It is not the color you want.

But install was easy. I will add. they dont give you enough clips to anchor to support the rope lighting.

If you run into this... You can use silicone. Smootz some on the boat. And then tape the rope fast, untill dry. I think i may have just made up a word there.

Works great for this aplication and other install projects.

They carry a 12v dc rope light available in many colors.

Home depot carries a clear channeling that you can snap rope lights into so it looks nice and straight and neat. It attaches with double sided tape.
