Are these any good? I mean I realize they aren't Owner or Gamakatsu quality but how far away from that are they? Is it worth it to replace stock hooks on cranks, jerks, etc. with these or just save up for the Owners or the Gammy's (the Eagle Claws are readily available at my local Wal-Mart which is a plus)?

I think eagle claw hooks are just as good as any others on the market, some people disagree but i wouldn't hesitate to buy them there what i use.

Let me start by saying that I have nothing against Lazer Sharp hooks. In fact, I caught a half dozen bass this morning with a Lazer Sharp EWG worm hook. With that said, I don't think they're much of an upgrade from the hooks that come on most crankbaits. Sure, there are some companies that sell crankbaits with junk hooks, and just about anything would be an improvement. But most of the crankbaits I buy come with hooks of at least the same quality as a Lazer Sharp, and I just don't see the point in replacing the hooks unless you are upgrading. If you are determined to replace all of your treble hooks, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting some Mustad Triple Grips.

I've used them to replace stock hooks before and they worked fine.

I happen to like them. They are the hooks used on the Mann's Baby 1 minus and the Baby X, when they get bad I replace them with the same Lazer sharp trebles. The reason why is they hold their points when grinding on the rocks in the river I fish, I also like the Owner Stinger trebles but the Gamakatsu points just don't hold up for me but I am fishing a lot of hard rock and not chunk rock but solid bed rock and the Lazer Sharps hold up better than a Gami.

As somebody who grew up using just eagle claw hooks starting out i think are just as good as any others on the market.

I think they're well worth the money and you get a bunch of them perfect for new anglers starting out.

This brings me to my next point, My sister caught her first rainbow trout and fish on a bait hook made by Eagle Claw.

Jump to today and we have all kinds of hook made by owner, mustad, eagle claw, gamakatsu.

For my trout needs, I use a Owner Mosquito Hooks in size 10/8 after my local tackle shop recommend me to use them.

I've been having good luck with them and love using them.

As for my sister she is happy using eagle claw hooks for just about everything go figure.

So I had to use them to replace hooks on a megabass Jerkbait, as they were the only hooks I had access to on short notice. I had no problems with them at all. ??

I bought a pack to replace some rusted out stock hooks on old crankabaits I had laying around. They are decent hooks for the price

i would go with the Berkley Fusion treble hooks in the future.

The Lazer Sharp is a step up from the standard Eagle Claw, no?  I would think the 3x has meaning to a better standard than cheapest off the shelf as well.
