I would like to get some more of the Keitech Swing Impact FAT baits and use an Owner Flashy Swimmer hook with them and try different sizes like the 3.3" and the 3.8" but they are darned expensive and if you find them someplace a little cheaper the shipping costs kill you. Is there a cheaper alternative that is of  comparable quality?

The Sk rage swimmer or the BPS speed shad are good options even the big bite baits cane thumper.

I gave all mine away. I'm fishing the Rage Tail Swimmer, both sizes, exclusively.

BTW, this little gem won the Classic last week!

If you want a keitch 'clone' on a budget i'd suggest the Eco Pro swing shad. They don't have quite the same action, BUT it's very close. I've found them for $2 a pack at Cabelas.

I bought packs and the plastic is noticeable harder. IMO it still has the same great head wobble and tail kick on slow/drop. Only cons I see are no scent, only two sizes and weight of the bait is less compare to Keitechs.

I throw a lot of the Rage Swimmers now. My favorite is the 3.75"

We carry all 3 sizes and are on sale right now for 3.99 a pack.

Eco Pro Tungsten Swing Shad. Half the price, more durable, maybe not as soft but in most water temps still has a great kick. Only downside is only two sizes (3.8 and 4.8) and more limited color selection.

Simple and only correct answer is, NO.

Just bookmark the Keitech site and check for sales, they have 50% off here and there(think Thanksgiving). Also Dicks Sporting Goods has BOGO at times or BOGO 50% off for a 25% savings. When they do go on sale buy all of them you can. Have paid as low as $3 for Fat 3.8" never over $5. Also if you havent yet get MEND-IT, for all you soft plastic repairs, saves big $$$$ in the long run.

Its just like the senko many imitators but no duplicators.

I agree with Athlon . . . Keitech baits are in a realm of their own for swimbaits. To avoid shipping, I know they are now carried at least at one of the big box stores (I saw them tonight). And, watching for sales, really for most tackle, is a smart thing to do. There seems to be a decent sale almost every quarter likely cutting down our expenses by 25% or more at times.

My favorite Keitech isn't one of the Swing Impact models . . . but the Easy Shiner.

No doubt, though, that there are more and more extremely good plastics coming to the market all of the time so Keitech has some real contenders. I always prefer softer baits like Keitechs and Roboworms, dislike all that I have ever tried that are too dense feeling.

The MEND-IT mention is a good one.  Not only does it help you save a ton of money on baits, it helps keep them out of the water and environment in general.

I'm primarily just a pond hopper and I'm also a bargain hunter.   I watch for sales at DSG and I maintain a continuous stockpile of all sizes.

However, I consider Keitech swing impact fats something I don't regret paying for, because they are simply among the most effective and versatile best bass catching baits I know of.

You mentioned shipping costs, but right now Academy is offering free shipping no minimum (as they do periodically), and their retail prices on these are not unreasonable.

I have also caught fish on the Eco Pro's mentioned, one of the few products I've ever seen at bargain basement prices in Cabelas.  And, you can't go wrong with advice from RW.   I will experiment with these others, but I still don't go fishing with the Keitechs.

Rage Swimmer especially if you get them at Wal-Mart they are $3.75 and my local store or the new kid on the block the Biospawn Exoswim. I have a couple packs of them and have the best action I have seen. I will be restocking with all Exoswim. They have the same action the Vile Craw has and slow rolling them givers off more action than even the Swing Impact.

Comparable quality?... I can't honestly tell you as Lunker City's Swimmin' Ribster has worked just fine for me over the last several years so I haven't had a need to spend more.
