Hey guys....i have a fishing buddy i fish with in Indiana and we do the team tournament thing on Geist Reservoir where Jacob Wheeler used to fish when he lived in Indy. I believe he went pro because he couldn't beat us on that lake (slight exaggeration, wait a minute, huge exaggeration!) No, just kidding...this is how good the kid was....a few years ago we had a large tournament on a Saturday with a few days of stable weather leading up to it.......we did ok but didn't place in the money and the winners had about 21lbs.......well, Wheeler fishes a different tournament the very next day after we beat the heck out of the lake. (approximately 1900 acre lake) He and his partner end up with just over 30lbs...for 5 bass....in Indiana! He dominated most tournaments he entered and it wasn't like we didn't know where he fished.....he was just better at presentation, concentration and location at the correct time and knowing when to move or stay on a spot. We can always learn.

If there is anything I've learned from Jacob Wheeler, it's that a Biffle Bug should never be fished the way it comes out of the package.  You've gotta rip something off! :P

His drive and flat out ability to catch them is what makes me a big fan of his. And the fact that I'm a hoosier as well. He has a video on his YouTube page about him coming up through the ranks from a young teenager all the way to today. There is a fellow bass resource member that is featured in that video and I believe is fairly close with mr wheeler. Cool to know that even though indiana isn't a great bass state, if you're good enough and Have the determination you can make the big time.

Jacob seems like a great guy. I don't know him or have never met him but he has taken the time to like and reply some of my tweets when I have congratulated him. I'll continue to keep up with how he does. He will win a classic one day.

Another Wheeler fan. Sounds like a good video do you happen to have a link for it? I'm assuming you're referring to @Team9nine he helped create the fishing machine that is Jacob Wheeler. I hear Brian still whoops him from time to time. ?

Had dinner with him not too long ago.  He's very personable and easy going.

I think back to a few years back, before he was on the Elite series, when he basically ended up going head to head against KVD on Kentucky Lake during Bassfest.  He didn't flinch under the pressure, a great combination of confidence and respect of others talents.

I don't follow FLW at all so when he won Bassfest I was left scratching my head wondering "who in the heck is this guy who just stole the show?" Then he wins his second Elite tournament he ever fish. There's no more head scratching from me, he's done a great job making you remember Jacob Wheeler!

Jacob Wheeler has proved to be a very versatile angler. When he fished the Cherokee. and many bass master opens he proved his versatility with several top ten finishes.

He showed up to a small tourney in KY a few years ago and you should’ve seen the look on everyone’s faces lol. Needless to say he won and to my knowledge has never been on the lake
