WHAT IS YOUR GO TO BAIT DURING THE SPAWN ??

I would go with two things, a craw style bait with some crazy colors those bass have never seen before. My other is gonna be really anything that imitates a blue gill. They hate bluegill during the spawn. My arsenal for the spawn in made up of mostly soft plastics and very few hard baits.

I AGREE , THEY DO HATE BLUEGILL DURING THE SPAWN , ANYTHING WITH LEGS AND LOTS OF JIGS , SKINNY DIPPERS BEEN DOING ME GOOD AROUND THE FRY

Pre spawn use lures that represent whatever the bass are eating. Crawdads and larger size baitfish make up most pre spawn bass prey.

Spawn, the bass are not eating when spawning, it's all about reproduction and nest guarding, anything in or around a nest can work.

Favorite spawn baits are 2.5”-2.75” natural-colored tubes on the lightest tube jig head possible. Took a pic of my all-star lineup for the past 3 seasons

Not true. I tried everything I owned and nothing punched through the ice..

I've had great luck with a Ned rig on beds. Coppertruese is good because it's easy to see. I also will go the complete opposite end of the spectrum and fish a 7-8 inch swimbait and get some really violent reactions out of the fish.

I don't fish the spawn (sight fish nests) but do catch some fishing the general area. Were I to fish the spawn, a large plastic rigged for snakehead is how I would do it. Most large plastics will get a response, but getting them hooked is usually the issue.
