SDoolittle Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I was born in December. I'm not sure what that pastry is, but I can't have it because I'm diabetic. I might have to change my date of birth to November. Hold the rice! Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted March 28, 2018 Super User Posted March 28, 2018 Mine is November but I will change it to September if that is fried chicken. Quote
desmobob Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I was born in February and I have no hangin' idea what that food is in the photo. The colors aren't all that appealing to me but maybe when I find out what it is, I'll feel differently... Bon appétit, Bob Quote

It is sold by the thousands during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. It is outstanding! Brew some hot coffee and sit at the table and eat to your heart's delight. Look up King Cake on the Internet and you will find out about it. And then, next Mardi Gras season, order one from Randazzos Bakery and pass a good time. It is a delicacy!!!! Quote

I just read the Wikipedia entry for it and was surprised I hadn't heard of it (I was raised Catholic and the family always observed Lent). Thanks for filling me in. I can now blame my New Orleans-style birthstone for my sweet tooth! Laissez les bons temps rouler, Bob 1 Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 2, 2018 Super User Posted April 2, 2018 If mom would have waited a few more days to have me I'd be dining on shrimp. Instead I get coffee and a pastry. And I don't drink coffee. 1 Quote
