32251 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 What are you guys using for an anchor on your inflatable boats. Surely you don't need as heavy an anchor as you would for a jon type boat. Any ideas for an inexpensive anchor? thanks Quote
Guest whittler Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 For my pontoon I use a net bag, not sure what came in it but it is about the size of a small potato sack. When I get to the water I pick up a few rocks and put in it, when your ready to load dump the rocks. No extra weight to mess with or store. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted September 12, 2007 Super User Posted September 12, 2007 I use 5 lb. plastic coated mushroom anchors. Quote
GeneinTX Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I used a bleach bottle filled with sand worked perfect and no chance of a puncture. Quote
gc Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I use a small concrete block and have it in a bucket when it's not in the water. Quote
Super User Marty Posted September 14, 2007 Super User Posted September 14, 2007 I use a 5# dumbbell for less than $3 from Wal-Mart with my canoe. Works great on the soft bottoms where I fish, don't know how it would work on hard bottoms. Quote
hotspringsbass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 You can get a small anchor from overtons.com made for a jet ski. It folds up and fits into its own pouch. It is not heavy though so it works best where the bottom has something to grab onto. It works great in the smallmouth rivers. Quote
