Looking for some fishing boots that are comfortable and not hot. I usually just go barefoot on boats while fishing or just some sneakers when bank fishing looking into getting some boots now wondering what the best ones are.

I have a pair of gore tex Rocky work boots that I love. Had them for 2 years, no issue with the sole, stitching, or water proofing. Super comfortable and rugged. Similar to these:

I’m curious as to why you need such rugged, steel toe boots when fishing from a boat? Do you drop anchors on your feet very often?

When bank fishing I want some solid boots and a good quality leather boot, to protect from the creepy crawlers.  Places with thick grass are especially troublesome.  I see snakes on a weekly basis.  Most are non-poisonous, but I have come across several cottonmouths.  An ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure.

Footwear comfort is a very personal thing. When shore fishing in the spring, I wear my military uniform boots or Timberlands, both are really comfortable for me once broken in. In the boat I usually wear sneakers or reef sandals.

I have a pair of Irish Setters. Most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn, just like wearing tennis shoes. Mine are insulated but I’m sure they make non insulated as well.

I assumed he was referring to when he wasn’t on the boat.

I rock a set of LL Bean boots that have gortex in them for rain and if i am bank fishing i can walk across shallow water and mud with no worries.  Killed my first set in 5 years and 10,000 miles but i feel there worth every penny.  I wear cotton short socks in the summer and heavy woolly socks in the winter.

I wear a pair of Ariat Workhogs. They’re composite toe (less chilly in the winter but still protected), waterproof, and decently high up on my calf so I can tuck my pant legs into them to avoid ticks/chiggers.

Same here, these are my summer boots for anytime I am in the woods, doing yard work, fishing banks, etc.  The express-cool liner really works.
