My friends brother pulled an 8 out of there with live bait. I personally have been skunked there about 3 times.

Was the water crystal clear like it usually is? I feel like it could be awesome for bed fishing now that I think of it...

Never fished there, but you are exactly right. I get my haircut on Genito, thinking about going tomorrow morning before my appointment at 11am.

Yes It was clear , I fished the shallow cove back closer to where the rocks are when you come out from the woods if you park beside 288.

Might have to patrol the banks there for some bedding mamas before the spawn is over!

Used to go to the reservoir at least 3 times a week. If you know what you're doing it has HOGS in it. My top 2 PB's were caught there. Great rocks, grass, and pads. Just bring a net... ?

Hey Guys...hope everyone is out enjoying this weather we are having and hopefully having some tight lines.

A little update...I was scanning through some old topics about some fishing spots in Midlothian/South Richmond, and one really caught my attention that was located in a housing subdivision.

So knowing that it was gonna be a scorcher (97 degrees) on Saturday, I told myself I was going to hit this pond right at sunrise before it got too hot. Even though I didn't get off work until 11:30pm and after I put some new treble hooks on my topwater lures it was 1:30am.

I got up at 5:30am and hit the water by 6:10am and on the 3rd cast with my Rebel Pop-R....she just crushes it in about 2 feet of water!!! Now you talking about a rush at 6am! But as the morning goes on, only 3 dinks hit my topwater after that. Sqaurebill crank, chatterbait, lipless crank, senko...they didn't want anything else but the Pop-R. But glad I was able to nab big momma here though.

Anyone know of any good places for shore fishing for bass and crappie in western Henrico or Glen Allen?

Have you tried Echo Lake Park?

Have any of you guys been having any luck lately?

From the shore, I haven't been getting much in the way of bass hits for about the last ten days at Swift Creek Res. Caught a couple from the yak last Sunday. Bluegill seem to be the bank fishing catch of the moment. My six year old daughter loves it!

Things are picking up on the reservoir.  Now, if she would just let me catch some fish.

@RSmall things are picking up for me as well. Just got on a really fun frog bite this evening. I’m gonna be fishing the reservoir tomorrow evening...hope to have as much luck as the female angler in the pics above ;)

@Graham, did you make it out Saturday evening?  We were out from 3:00 until about 8:00.  Only caught two bass but one was somewhere around 4 1/2 pounds.

I’ll take quality like that over quantity most days. Unfortunately I didn’t make it out, life happened. I’ll be out there for sure a few times this summer tho! Keep sticking big ones!

We live right on Swift Creek Res so I'll be sticking around here.  It seems to be picking back up.

Three pounder from last night.

How’s everyone making out?  Seems a bit slow right now.

R, looks that way.

Has been way too hot and humid to be on the water.

Going from 6 to Noon is not a bad idea unless you are going to miss work.

Keep us posted on Swift Creek.

last few times out i have done pretty well numbers wise but the size isn't there just yet.  The best places i have been have moving water which i guess is keeping it a little cooler and more oxygenated....oh and i am in a kayak not the bank.
