Hey guys, I’m trying to decide what I should get for a froggin rod that’s under $150. The ones I’ve been looking at are the Dobyns 735, Favorite Phantom 7’4” Hvy, Powell Inferno 7’2” Mag Hvy, Abu Garcia Veritas 7’6” MH, Lew’s TP-1 7’3” H, Shimano Exage 7’6” H, and the St. Croix Bass X or Mojo 7’4”. I got a lot of rods I’m trying to decide between so I was hoping to get some opinions from people who have used these rods, and what y’all think is the best froggin rod

I use the Abu Garcia Veritas 7-03 H/Fast for frogging and love it.

There's a lot of great rods in that range.  I'm not sure that I can think of the "best" though.  Many so called frog rods are great at throwing the baits, but not so hot at getting a fish out of the slop.  Generally, my only criteria for a frog rod is that it be long, heavy power and fast action.  I've been impressed with the Okuma EVX line.  The 7'5" Heavy would be good for frogs, and other heavy cover baits.

I've heard good things about the Daiwa DX frog rod, retails at $119.99. Also Dobyns makes a couple in your price range that would do well

I really like Dobyns, the 735 is a great rod, long enough to get leverage and to cast far, short enough where the length doesn't prohibit your walk-the-dog motions and plenty of backbone. The Sierra is what I'd recommend, or you can save some money on the Fury.

I choose dobyn's because they are light and balanced. That's why I don't like the Veritas rods. But I do really like the mojo series rods too, St Croix and Dobyn's have great customer service (if that has value to you).

You should take a look at the Irod Genesis 2 7'5 Fred's magic stick. It has been a very good frog rod for me for a long time.  Out of the rod's you listed the dobyns 735 and the Powell inferno are good also. I would pass on the mojo as I've found the rod to be very tip heavy
