Popular Post Fairtax4me Posted March 19, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2018 Cold this morning and a little windy, but we found a calm pocket behind a long point. She grabbed a blade bait on bottom about 15 feet deep. 23.5" long and 6.3lbs. Another couple weeks and she would have been alot heavier. Still, She's my new longest LMB! Shes my second citation largemouth of the year. PB by weight is still 6.5lbs (23") from a couple years ago. 39 Quote

Fairtax4me Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Thanks! Should also mention my fishing buddy also landed a 6lber about two hours later. Also citation length! We did get a handful of other 2-3lb bass, but the bite died in the afternoon when the wind calmed down. Water temps were around 48°. Quote

I try not to do much with photos except if they're too dark or too washed out I'll adjust the brightness some, but usually I let the colors speak for themselves. Yep, blade bait is all they would touch that day. I did manage a 2lber on a spro lipless crank, but I was hopping it on bottom just like the blade baits. Between me and my buddy we put 10 fish in the boat, 9 on the blade and one on lipless. We were throwing around brush piles anywhere from 3-20 feet deep. All our bass came from the 10-15 feet range. I had a pickerel chase the blade up to the boat and nail it within sight. It actually looked at the boat and hesitated a split second then turned and snatched the blade and tried to run. Three feet from the boat, No fight, so it had a ton of energy, it was all over the place and rolled about 20 times in the net. (Fun to untangle that mess) Thanks for the comments everyone! 1 Quote
