I have an Ardent Smart Cull system that I really like (you can lock in the weights). I’d like to turn it from a penetrating to non-penetrating clips without having to spend $30. I’ve seen culling-specific clips for $9, but the reviews on TW are horrible. Has anyone found an inexpensive yet reliable solution?

I recently got fooled into buying the clamp on clips myself and they do more harm than the old style. Idk the science being it but the clips keep the bass from being able to close their mouth which keeps there gills from working properly and they die in the well. My advice is keep doing what your doing or start inserting the puncture clips just behind the gill plate and out the mouth. This works well and doesn't punch any holes in the mouth.

That’s what I do now. I was think of a zip tie around the tail, inserting the clip.
