I don’t know what they are but they are the some of the sharpest hooks out of the package I’ve ever used. Lose very few fish with this lure.

The second or third treble always seems to foul hook fish when they strike too, probably bc they are so sharp.

Razor sharp River2Sea trebles according to TW description of them.

I swap them for EWG trebles and seem to lose far fewer fish. I normally don't like EWG trebles for topwater, but since I set the hook by reeling into them with a Plopper, the EWG trebles work great.

I agree. They are wicked sharp. They will snag my skin even with the slightest contact.

They are very sharp!  I posted this on a thread a while back.  I didn't even feel the hook go in as it cut through like surgical steel.

@senile1...no offense intended, but if I don't ever see that pic again, it'd be OK

I am thinking about using that as my profile photo.

I've got a picture of my dad's finger with a Vision 110 hook buried under his fingernail I could add to the thread

This is why I wear shoes while fishing.

Lord Almighty......that photo.....

Aside from that - I swap mine out with EWG's, usually red. Not sure if the color makes a difference, that's just what I had as surplus at the time

Doesn't matter, was unhooking a hammer handle pike and it jumped and I got a huge pike lure treble buried in my finger. lol. Couldn't cut it with the snips, had to go to the hospital.

What ever they are, they are ruthlessly sharp. Very sharp, stout hooks for a stock lure.

Do you use braid for this bait? I'm seeing a lot of people recommend it now.

I use braid for most of my topwaters except buzzbaits and baits with a front prop. I use 20 or 50lb braid depending on the size plopper I'm using.

A couple years back they actually upgraded the hooks on the 130 size. I have an old version I bent out the hooks on when I got it so I swapped them. I ordered a second one a couple months later that had the new hooks, and IMO they went a little overkill. They are d**n sharp and d**n strong hooks. But I actually swap mine out to slightly lighter hooks with a thinner wire (I believe I have St-36's on mine now). If you can get away with doing that the bait will sit higher in the water and fair better in waves.

Overkill is a good way of putting it. Those hooks on the 130 are the heaviest gauge hooks in my entire tackle arsenal. I don't mind the heavy hooks, but I do like your idea changing to the ST-36's to get the bait to sit higher.

The hooks on ploppers are pretty good. No need to replace them out of the box.

The split rings on the other hand aren’t that great.  At leas on the 90’s. I’ve broken two. On dinky fish when I’ve swung them up to me out of the water.

I also broke rear split ring on 90. I got VMC inline hook and owner hyper wire split ring to replace both hook. If it works out I will replace 2 of my 110 as well.

This is another reason I forgot to mention why I swap the hooks on my 90's. A short shank, ewg weighs less so the bait rides over the waves easier. That combined with holding the rod tip high and using braid greatly reduces the bait trying to dive under during the retrieve.
