What do you find is the most effective way to keep fish alive during tournaments?  Especially as the water gets warmer during the summer.  Reason I ask is I'm installing a re-circulation/aeration  pump in my live-well today.  Is it better to use the freshwater pump most of the time, or re-circulate and add some sort of live-well additive?

Depends on the water temp and the fish. But I'm not afraid to run the wells all day and I keep a couple frozen water bottles during the summer and toss one in every now and then

Do you have a separate battery for your pumps or do they run off your cranking battery?  I would run them more, but I'm always afraid of running my battery down.

No separate battery, they run of the cranking battery.

I have cables if I need to get a jump off a trolling motor battery but i have not required to do this as of yet.

I do the same thing, but I premix some Catch and Release and freeze it in the water bottles. It cools the water and slowly releases the additive at the same time.

I saw Please Release me at Academy yesterday.  I'll have to pick some up next time I go there.

Thanks for the tips about the sure life videos.  I watched a couple over the weekend.  I also just added a re circulation pump to my livewell yesterday.  Its not too bad now, but once the heat of the summer comes around, surface water temps will be in the mid to high 80s, you need all the help you can get when it comes to keeping fishing alive.
