He's an avid fisherman and he was in shopping with his band members before he did a show in KC. Talked to him for 15-20 minutes like a regular guy, then he asked if I was going to his show, told him I didn't have the money (18 year old kid making $8 an hour working retail, didn't have much expendable income). He said he'd put some tickets in willcall for me if I wanted to go. I told my girlfriend at the time when I got off work and I'm sure she didn't believe me, but we got there and there was 2 tickets for the 3rd row, middle waiting for me. One of my favorite country concerts I've ever been to. This is a very cool experience -- no doubt a fun and memorable night. Quote

Turkey sandwich Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 Depending upon my mood, my musical taste is all over the place from Paco de Lucia to John Coltrane to the Wu-Tang Clan. What I cannot listen to, however, is pop country. Listening to something like Florida-Georgia Line makes me want to choke people with terrible taste in music. That said, Chet Atkins, the classic outlaws, Hank III, Sturgill Simpson, Shooter, and everything that kinda rebelled against Nashville pop has become some of my favorite music. If you haven't heard Sturgill's old band Sunday Valley, listen to them immediately. Quote
