That ole 14' flatbottom of mine is gettin heavy loading in and out of my p'up. ;)

Considering my options.

Canoes,- seems light enough but I can't see how you get in and out without sticking your foot in the water.

Belly boats/ infatables-- just can't carry all the gear I want ;D

Small two man plastic boats---? several brands to choose from Pond Hopper, Pelican, Bass Hunter etc.

All seem to be light enough to handle by myself, The flat bottom is better when I have a fishing buddy, but 7 out of 10 times I will be by myself. My concept is if I can get my truck close to the water thats just another place to fish. :o

Get your self some of those big lawn mower wheels and a couple pipes and make your self a folding boat dolly that you can use to move the boat around and store in the boat when not in use

I even saw one advertised somewhere that had wheels already attached :o

how about a trailer? I take my boat all the place with and without ramps using a trailer. If you have the bunks set up correctly and/or a set of 2x4s that you can use as a ramp you can use the winch to pull boat from the ground to the trailer.

Heck, you can even make a set of bunk/ramps and winch to pull it up into your truck bed.

Check out the Sea Eagle inflatable SE8 or SE9 with the fishermans package.  They hold 950 and 1250 pounds each. Fold them up and put them in your trunk.  Tough and well made.

Have you given thought to buying a trailer?

I have launched aluminum boats off the side of the road on many occasions and price wise they're not bad.   :o

Here's my Sea Eagle 9.  It has plenty of room for all my gear.

Long Mike.

As a result of seeing your Sea Eagle on the forum, I picked up a nice used SE8.  It will be a few weeks before I can get the time to get it on the water, but I sure like what I saw when I opened the box and inspected the boat.

Thanks for the suggestions, ya know using the big lawnmower wheels on a homemade dolly, 2 thumbs up :o

I think I'm leaning towards the Pond Prowler style. Been searching & keep coming back to a model called Bass Baby made by Bass Hunter, I can find several stores that carry Bass Hunter brand just not the bass baby model. Wish I had a pic to show you comes with built in wheels on the lower tail section.

Only scorce I can find to buy it is Directboat.com or something like that............still looking :-?
