MDBowHunter Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Ok guys who fished them, do you like them, how's the action, do they catch fish? I've been looking at them and since I'm getting ready to place an order with TW I may pull the trigger on some. Thanks in advance Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 7, 2018 Super User Posted March 7, 2018 One of my favorites in weeds. Rig the 6" with a 6/0 Owner Beast 1/4 oz. and have at it. 1 Quote

Thanks I was wondering how well the 6/0 would work. They have it rigged with an 8/0 on their video, but I don't like how far it hangs down. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 7, 2018 Super User Posted March 7, 2018 The plastic is really soft, so no issues hooking up with the 6/0. 1 Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted March 7, 2018 Super User Posted March 7, 2018 I have had a little luck with them, but they are really fragile. I swaped out the cps keeper on the 6/0 with a large one and it seems to hold a lot better. 1 Quote

blckshirt98 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 A fishing buddy of mine uses the Little Creeper Trash Fish and Sunfish and kills it with them (note though that he also slathers them in his scent of choice). Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted March 7, 2018 Super User Posted March 7, 2018 Has anyone had any luck with the Berkeley version of the trash fish? I bought one of the big ones and is obviously a ton stiffer and less detailed. It doesn't look nearly as convincing when it's being swam, but interested in a cheaper alternative for pulling through heavier grass and laydowns. Quote

Comfortably Numb Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Smallest one is great on a drop shot Woops I was actually thinking of the the Berkley Havoc Sick fish in 3" Quote

I use the Berkley Sick Fish and have always just cut of the top tail part to make it more like a traditional paddletail swimbait. I’m curious about your cuts. Do you by chance have a photo of on that you’ve modified? Thanks! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 8, 2018 Super User Posted March 8, 2018 Not off hand. I bought them when they came out, and just started experimenting. Think of the Lake Fork Swimmers. I went back to the original Trash Fish. Quote
Fishing_FF Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Thanks @J Francho! Cuts like a Lake Fork swimbait makes sense. I’ll try that vs one with the top part of the tail removed to see which has better action. I loose too many Sick Fish to creatures like gar, turtles, catfish, bowfin, and even cormorants that loosing Trash Fish would just hurt the wallet a bit too much. @fishwizzard, I use the Berkley Sick Fish when I want a smaller swimbait. The big swimbaits I throw include GY Heart Tail and Keitechs Swing Impacts, but for whatever reason, the smaller Sick Fish get hit by fish and other creatures. Sure, I’ve lost a Heart Tail or Swing Impact to something other than a bass, but I’ve never pulled in a small gator or cormorant on one. The smaller ones (3”) seem to be softer than the bigger ones (4”), but don’t have any of the 5.5”to compare them to. Also, I’ve noticed the more part and detail on a Sick Fish, the stiffer they are due to the extra paint. Quote
