Being that they don't offer it, does anyone have any idea what I could add to get a black dye?  And yes, before you ask, I've tried all the other dyes available.  JJ's seems to be the only true stain.......rather than a surface coating.   I guess a sharpie is an option but it seems like such a pain.  Thanks

You might try-RIT DYE. Check walmat or joann fabric.

If you mix all the different colors of food dye together, THAT might do the trick (or at least close).

I know it's not as good as JJ's....but since JJ's doesn't come in black...

I do have some Spike-it in black...

I've tried Spike-it and it just doesn't penetrate...it just coats. Don't even try to dip a tube in it.

As i am sure most are aware that double dipping JJ's Magic creates alternative colors .... no recipe for black.

  • Orange = Chartreuse + Menthylate
  • Green = Chartreuse + Blue
  • Purple = Blue + Menthylate
  • Brown = Blue + Red

Tried that and you shall receive "green pumpkin" as you are taking care of business.

Don't believe me - google it up :)

I've never tried to squeeze a squid.  Hmmmm....sounds like a good children's book.
