Drew03cmc Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I fished one for the first time this past weekend in the Dirty Sanchez color (I have one of these left) and just bought a bag of Sexy Shad. I'm curious what other colors I need to add. I primarily fish smaller city and state lakes, sub 100 acres, with clarity from 6 feet to nil. They'll be tossed on a VMC 3/0 HD swimbait 1_8oz hook so they're weedless and can still double as a trailer on a buzzer or what have you. Are there Any colors in particular that you'd grab? Quote

JoePhish Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Depends on what the main forage is in the bodies of water you fish. There are tons of shad where I fish so I opt for colors like Guntersville Shad, White Trash and Bad Shad Green. I also carry a few Spike-It markers to make custom adjustments. Quote

Drew03cmc Posted March 7, 2018 Author Posted March 7, 2018 In these smaller lakes and ponds, it's sunfish and minnow species. I've had great luck on Keitechs Silver Flash Minnow and Bluegill Flash, but tire of the fragility and cost of these. The RI baits kick so much harder and I'm a sucker for them. I grabbed Sexy Shad as that was all Academy had on hand. They swim amazing, so I'm looking forward to fishing them more. Quote
