XPS Products

Anyone have a Bass Pro branded item they prefer. Frog, lipless, cranks? Ive bought the XPS squarebill before and it looks like a Strike King 1.5 clone. Any experiences that say not to save a buck on some items?

I have one of there poppers that just gets it done for me.  I own a pop max and still like this lure better.  Jump in the lake when it gets hung up to get it back...

Thier XPS Flouro is quality line. 

Its not Sunline Sniper, but in a pinch it will suffice. 

Much better in my opinion than Seaguar's Invisx

I stay away from them, they are cheap made but I sometimes fish there plastic bsits! Alot of the XPS are just cheap knockoff ‘s! So no thanks!

Bought some of their suspending jerkbaits last year. Was less than impressed. None suspended or even tried to. All sank tail down. Came with decent hooks and good color schemes though

I myself would not put the X PS Fluo. Line in the same class as  Invisx!!

These were XPS models when I bought them 6 years ago.  They have caught LMB in Colorado and Iowa, and snappers and jacks in the Bahamas, so I guess that they are okay.  This exact style isn't even available any more.

I have used many of the XPS lures. I am a huge fan of their lipless crankbaits.  I went to basspro.com and found a 5 piece set of different color schemes for 15.99 so I bought that. They are great to fish with, as loud if not louder than any Rat-l-trap or strike king lip less in my box. And they swim great and don't tip sideways on the fall. Definitely recommend those.

I agree, I have pop-r versions that I like. 6-8 years old that can't be had anymore. Maybe not my favorites but have gotten good results with them. 

 

It it seems that BPS is pushing their line of baits. Name brands hardly on sale. Maybe its just me. I don't deal with them all that much anymore.

I heard the same thing as you. 

 

If I'm not mistaken I believe Seaguar makes the XPS for them now which is much improved than what it was. 

Its just a different formula than thier named brands. 

 

Anyway, Before I made the switch I really didn't have a problem with it. 

 

Then again maybe I just got lucky.

Agreed. Their lipless are great considering the price. Definitely recommend them.

The last time that I used the XPS Fluor

. It had a yellowish tint to it and for me it was just ok! Maybe it did get better?

I used to have two of their Spook knockoffs. They were weighted poorly and would not cast half as far as a Spook. The action was alright. They looked great and seemed to have good hooks. I gave them to a neighborhood kid. Lesson learned.

The XPS baits are 50/50 at best...some of their stuff works good and some is complete crap. Their soft plastics are pretty good. Other than that I've heard too many people say they are junk so I mostly stay away from them. I do have some of the Cabelas house brand baits and they seem to be of a higher quality than the BPS baits.

I haven't used a lot of BPS items, but I like their Speed Shads, Stik-O's and curly-tail grubs. I've caught lots of fish on all three and will continue to use them.

They do have one bait that I think is a killer shallow water crank which is called " the Egg " , goofy name but a top notch crank after you replace the crappy hooks that come on it . XPS Florocarbon is quality line, that said I prefer Sunline Sniper.
