Buffdaddy54 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I'm pretty sure this has been asked before but I did not see the post. Let's say today is your first day ever fishing, you have a baitcaster and a spinning set up. You are going to a local pond and will be bank fishing. What do you use? Last two two years sucked for me, no time to fish and when I did, not a lot of success. Im hitting the reset button and dedicating myself to get out more often. Ive seen Roadwarriors post on fishing the Senko and Fat Ika, and did not have much success but am going to go at it again. If you were bringing someone out for the first time using lures what would you use to insure so success? Quote
Super User scaleface Posted February 24, 2018 Super User Posted February 24, 2018 Just dont cast out and reel in . If there are any snags , lay downs , pads ,... Fish around them and then in them . Nothing fishes snags as effectively as a Texas rig . Quote
Fishin Dad Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Chatterbait, senko, Booyah padcasher frog, Strikeking Rage Bug with 3/8 oz. tungsten and 4/0 EWG. Covers your water column and pretty easy to fish to start out. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 24, 2018 Super User Posted February 24, 2018 The Ned Rig https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/ned-rig-2318.html Quote
SWVABass Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I’d say a small pop r for top water they have produced for me in the sw, ne, and se. it’s not to big or noisy and all kinds of fish will hit them. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted February 24, 2018 Super User Posted February 24, 2018 I think the pop-r is a good choice for top water. Also try a small spinnerbait, and texas rigged grubs, baby brush hogs, and trick worms. Quote
Master_dekoy Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Would have to agree with the Ned rig after the past couple weeks. The thing just produces. Quote
TylerT123 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 I caught way too many fish on a wacky rigged yum dinger last year. Just cast out, let it sink and then jerk your rod up. Quote
