Hey guys new member here with a question. Does anybody know of a good kit or anything that would allow me to customize my own spinnerbaits? I’ve been wanting to get more into customizing my own baits and I’m wanting to start with my spinnerbaits. I’d really like to customize my own skirts and stuff. I don’t want to manufacture my own stuff but I would like to mix and match my own colors but haven’t really been able to find anything on Google unless I’ve skipped over it. If anybody has any input it would be greatly appreciated!

There are skirt making kits with colors specifically picked out for spinnerbaits but nothing else in kit form. I make my own spinnerbaits from cutting and bending the wire to pouring the lead but I got started by doing the very thing you are asking about. What I would do is get the skirt making kit, I'll leave a link but most lure supply shops should carry it. In addition to the kit I'd get an assortment of blades, figure out what sizes you will most often use and get Colorado, willow, and Indiana blades and perhaps something different like a Royal blade. If you spend around $100, you'll have a good set up to modify a lot of baits, you could even buy spinnerbait heads painted or unpainted and build your own rather than modifying an existing bait. A lot of options, good luck...................https://www.barlowstackle.com/Skirt-Making-Kits-C118.aspx

My experience with lure making kits is that they include stuff you'll never use.  I've found it best to go to sites like Barlow's, Lurepartsonline, or Jann's Netcraft and hand pick your own according to your style.

Quick question for you, what type of angle do you put in the wire? What I mean is, the hook in relation to the line tie?. I always find myself tweaking the wire on my store bought spinnerbaits. I ask you because you're actually the one putting the initial bends in a straight piece of wire. Thanks in advance. And sorry for posting a question on your thread OP.

The wire comes out of the nose of the spinnerbait at about 35 to 40 degrees if I just put it in the mold. I modified my mold so the wire comes out slightly steeper but it doesn't affect the way I bend my wire, I make a typical "R" bend but from the bend back to the hook leg it is perfectly straight. The angle you get is where  the hook leg is holding the hook, again this is about 30 to 40 degrees while my molde the wire comes out at a just a hair under 45 degrees.
