Looking to expand my rod and reel arsenal and I’m looking for a little advice since I’m looking to try out a different manufacturer. I currently have all Daiwa casting reels. 3 Tatula, 2 Tatula CT, and 1 Fuego CT. Nothing wrong with them at all... just wanting to try something different. My personal preference is magnetic brakes and I’d like to stay in the $100-$150 range. Maybe a little more. What do y’all think? And... GO

I have mostly Daiwa baitcast reels.  I've also got Lews, Pinnacle, AG and Quantum.

If I was shopping today, I'd look at getting another Quantum Smoke 100.  I don't know that they're head and shoulders above other reels at their price point, but they are comparable.  They fit me well.  Bonus is that I keep finding them on sale.  I've paid from $74 to $115 for the four that I own.  Feels like I stole them.  Never had the slightest problem with any of them and they dial in as well as any.

Lews Tournament MB is $109 new on EBay from Sportsman Outfitters.  I own 3 of them and don't know what else you could ask from a >$200 reel.

If you like the tatula ct's look on the auction site for the sv models. I have one and will be getting more.

You can get a lot of pretty good reels in that range on the auction site. Lew's Tournament Pro and Shimano Curado K come to mind. I recently switched from the Lew's because I wanted to try something different. I decided to go with the Tatula SV103 and those things are pretty smooth right out of the box.

I’d suggestion looking at the Curado 70 or Curado K, hard to beat both of them for the price. Need a reel to throw lighter baits the 70 will do it, want to pull a big spinnerbait the K is on the job. I’d save up for either of these two imho.

The Tatula SV is definitely worthwhile. I'd also look at the Shimano Curado and the Pflueger Supreme XT as well.

I picked one up a couple weeks ago for $99.  Best hundred bucks I've spent in a while!  VERY smooth reel with a good, solid feel and casts a mile!  And I really like the dual magnetic/centrifugal braking.  I got the 6.8:1 ratio and it looks like it is going to be a fantastic all purpose reel.
