Meathead Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I've been using a 15' mirrocraft aluminum boat now and it's a nice little boat with a live Well and front platform but now with 3 kids and a wife I'm looking to bigger. We live on a great lake and the kids like to tube and I'm sure eventually wakeboard. So I got $13k to spend and I'm looking for a fish and ski model. The skeeter sl series seem to fit the bill. Any other suggestions or recommendation please advise. -meat Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 20, 2018 Super User Posted February 20, 2018 5 people will fill a fish and ski up the the bigger they get the fuller it will be. Have you given any thought to a deck boat? Quote
Meathead Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 Yes I have. The waters here are small and shallow. I just can't see me maneuvering a deck boat around here for fishing. Lots of stumps trees etc to get around. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted February 20, 2018 Super User Posted February 20, 2018 Anybody here might suggest the perfect boat for you but if you can't find a used one, it won't matter. The choice you have to make will come from the list of available boats in your area. Another thing, boats that may be common in the East or South, may be rare in the Northwest. Quote
Meathead Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 Ya also in the northwest everything is 100% more money. I've been looking nationwide and am going to hire a boat surveyor to look it over and pay u ship to haul it. I found a few already but sellers think I'm a scammer so refuse to let me buy. Like a scammer would hire a local boat surveyor. A 2000 to 2008 bass boat here is 20k or more outside of this area they can be had for 6 to 10k so well worth the shipping Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted February 20, 2018 Super User Posted February 20, 2018 Take a look at a boat like this. The boat is 2005 Starcraft C-Star 16' - $11000 (Colville) https://spokane.craigslist.org/boa/d/2005-starcraft-star-16/6493977950.html Just saying this is probably the type of boat to meet your needs. It is at least in Washington and worth a family short term trip to go look at it. If you add one more seatthen yo see here you would be fine. A bigger version of this might work better but I would start here. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 21, 2018 Super User Posted February 21, 2018 Most fish and ski's do neither well 3 Quote
