WI_Angler1989 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Ahhh, tax season. It's a beautiful time when someone like myself can come into a nice little bit of excess money. However, The Bait Monkey waits in the wings, checking my TurboTax account, biding his time. Does anyone out there have any fun fishing related plans with their tax return?? I plan on placing a niiice little order of Siebert Sniper Jigs, a fan favorite for my smallies. Another order of River Rock swimbait sounds like a good idea too I think. Those have been on my radar for too long not to get a handful of packs. Then, come spring, I'll use a chunk to fund the annual fishing trip I take with a buddy and head up to northern WI. Maybe swing by the St Croix rod factory and see what all those "B" rods are about. 2 Quote

drscholl14 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 It'd be nice to get money back from uncle Sam....Been 3 years of paying in on tax season. Quote

That's been my situation also. I have a few things I want to do before a trip to Lake Ontario but I have plenty of time to pick those things up. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 20, 2018 Super User Posted February 20, 2018 This year the tax refund is going to help with projects around the house. 1 Quote
ZebcoZak Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 i will be using my refund to reimburse all of the spending I lost control of in the dead of winter. The bait monkey was a bit out of control this off season. I have enough plastics to fish every day for two years. Easily. Quote
bowhunter22 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 This year it is funding my way to the FLW college open. And my crankbait box is looking a little empty 1 Quote
SDoolittle Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I did my taxes yesterday. No stimulus for me. I'm paying in a small fortune. Luckily, I just received some back pay that I've been waiting on since September, so it didn't put me in a bind, but the bait monkey will have to wait. Quote
MNGeorge Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Haven't been able to decide which would be of more benefit...Ultrex or new locator. Quote

As far as the Z-Train goes word on the street is he's a sneaky little devil. He caught a bunch of flack a few years back for disclosing where he was fishing, so now he'll film the scene at the launch and head to another launch site. If you get hit with a stalking charge anywhere down here just have your better half get a hold of me and I'll come bail you out. ? I did hear from a very reliable source he's doing a Zona live from Menderchuck, so that one should be easy to plan out. ? Edited February 20, 2018 by 12poundbass Auto correct grrrr 1 Quote

Bassin' Brad Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Within the next couple Saturdays I plan to make the 90 mile trip to Academy and pick up a Pelican Bass Raider 10E and all the goodies that we (me and my Father-in-law) are planning to put on it. Trolling motor, batteries, FF, etc, etc.? Can't wait to have my own boat this spring and summer!! Even if it's "small and slow" instead of "big and fast", it'll be awesome! Quote
Crappiebasser Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 What's a tax return? I am super excited my check is not due until 4/17 this year though. Quote
CTBassin860 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 LOL tax return?? I've payed out for the last 10 years or so. Quote
Fish the Mitt Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I'm thinking I'll upgrade the electronics on the Skeeter. I'm thinking a pair of Helix 10's - or at least one 10, and maybe a 5-7 for the console. 1 Quote
WI_Angler1989 Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 I have the lucky benefit (?) Of being poor hahaha. So tax return is a thing for sure. I try my best to treat myself with a portion of it, along with a lot going towards bills, student loan, etc. It's a good way for me to restock tackle without having to pinch pennys and talk myselfnout of it, like tend to.
