Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

You might be able to answer your own question if you are able to determine which rig & deal fits how & where you usually fish as well as which one appeals most to your budget.

As for buying a something with 'dings' -  could depends on the size & location.

Anything on the motor, skeg or hull = bad.

Something on the key ring or cup holder might be OK.

Good Luck

Tough question for us to say, You are talking about 2 VERY different boats here. Fiberglass VS Aluminum, They will both ride and fish differently. Would be better for you to research the characteristics between them and see what one suits you better. Aluminum boats are very light and the wind really blows them around where a fiberglass boat is much heavier but more stable. One may require more maintenance than the other or can go places the other cant... There are so many variables to consider before making the choice between the 2 different types.

You have a lot to consider.  You didn't mention what additional features come with the Ranger.  Model and type of depth finders, shallow water anchors, and trolling motor are all items that could make a big difference.  If you tend to fish bigger lakes of thousands of acres 115 horses with the Ranger hull would be a lot better than a 60 horse motor, at least for me.  Also, have a mechanic check out the used Ranger, perform compression tests on the motor, etc.  If all is well with the boat and motor, then make your decision based on which one best fits your fishing situation.

Dings are mainly in the gel coat could get a buddy of mine to buff them out it has a lowrance elite 5 and 75 lbs motorguide trolling motor and the tracker is just the base model 175txw the ranger was a one owner with 215 hrs on the motor which is about average the lower unit dosent seem to have any kind of damage to it at all and I plan on fishing some decent sized lakes and try to get into fishing some bfls and local stuff priva my next year
