I'm going to pick up my Dad's old Bass Tracker this weekend.  I would like to have an on-board charger installed on the boat.  Is this something an amateur can easily do.

The boat has one cranking battery and one battery for the electronics.  If I understand correctly I should get a two bank charger.

This is a situation where I don't know what I don't know.  Any advise would be appreciated.

Yes, That will work, Make sure its a 20amp (10 amps a side). I like Guest Chargers, I have the same setup. 1 cranking and 1 trolling. I keep the charger plugged in 365 dayas a year.

Mine is the guest 2620.

Installing is pretty simple you shouldn't have any trouble. I would guess you have one battery that cranks the motor and runs the electronics(sounders, live wells, bilge pump etc) and one that powers the trolling motor. If your not set up this way you should be although the on board charger does't care.

Make sure you mount it up high in the battery hatch. So it won't get wet if you ever forget to put the plug in the boat.
