Is there a bait casting reel that doesn’t cost $200 that will cast 1/8 oz baits. I did have one but it got away from me ( my girl desided it was hers).

Lews Tournament MB is a good one for that weight. $140 on TW, I'm sure it can be had cheaper if you look around.

I've got 2 or 3 and I got 1 for as low as $119. They are great even at retail though

That’s a steal. You should share your researching techniques if you don’t mind.

The 7.3 were $119 last night. Haven't checked tonight though. Unusually high from alpha2omegam plus there is a 20% off coupon code floating around for presidents day. Which would make it like $107 because it only works on the 134 dollar ones

I love this site. You ask a question and within a day you get good feed back from people who know what’s what. Thanks to you all.

I have a KastKing Spartacus Plus with the Sea Knight Elf spool in it that will cast an 1/8oz hair jig with ease.

I’ve come across an Abu Garcia blackmax 1500. How would it work until I can get a pixy ?  Has anyone used one?

Never handled a 1500.  I have the Black Max 1600C.  I was able cast a small fluke with (I think) a 3/0 hook directly into a pretty strong wind.  Don't know its weight.  I was impressed, tho.  I felt it handled the weight better than any other reels I had at that time.

BTW, if you don't want it I would consider buying it myself if it is in decent shape.

I use a Shimano 100b w/upgraded bearing and a light Japanese spool to cast 1/16 Ned Rigs. Recently got my hands on a Chronarch 50MG I'm gonna try next. You'll have a harder time pairng it with a rod that works, than finding a reel that works.

Do you? ;)

I do but I don’t catch anything. I can’t figure out why. I think I just suck at fishing.

I think if you start coloring your lures with nail polish, you will finally start catching!

Hmmm maybe you’re onto something... what about if i tie a washer onto my crankbaits for extra dull flash and clanking sound?

I've got to agree with this.  I know some guys on here could do it with a MH rod, but I'm not one of them.  Highly doubt I will ever be that good with a baitcast reel.   I need a rod that loads properly.  Love my 100B but never considered using it for light baits.  Won't either considering I already have a few Pixies, Alphas and Curado 51E reels.  Still it is nice to know the 100B is capable of that.  From everything I have read I think you will love that 50MG.
