Duke_of_fluke Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was needing some help. First of all let me say that if I break a rule or this topic exists somewhere else I'm truly sorry. Secondly, I've read this forum many times and have gotten plenty of good advice from it and I just wanted to thank everyone that shares and posts info. Ok, I bought this used reel today and would like to know which Revo sx it is. It has 11 bearings and a 6.4:1 ratio. I've looked all day and I can't find it anywhere. If I were to have to fix or upgrade it knowing which model it is would be very important. If anyone can help, thank you so much Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 There's a number stamped on the reel foot to help ID thecright schematic. Gen 1 &2 weren't that different from one another if I remember Quote
Duke_of_fluke Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Thank you Delaware valley tackle. Yes I was wondering about the number. It's 16 00 16/37. I guess that schematic goes with 4 or 5 different reels cause when I look up schematics 16 00 goes with a few different reels. I really appreciate the info. I've been fishing a long time but I haven't had a baitcaster since the 90's when we had some Shimano reels and a quantum cranking reel. In your opinion what upgrades would potentially be good for this reel? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Pull the spool and see if it's a full shaft or floating design. Full shaft will benefit from super tuning, beyond that a deep cleaning / bearing flush and carbontex drag should suffice. Quote
Duke_of_fluke Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Delaware Valley Tackle again thank you so much! Yeah I was going to get it cleaned and serviced for sure. I'll most definitely do the drag and super tune if I can. I paid 30 dollars for the reel so if I have to put a little in it it to make it better I'll gladly do that Quote
