Best Glide Bait? I-Slide vs Claw 178

I was offered either of these for about the same price. I have heard bad things about the I-slide, though, and want to know everyone's opinions.

I like my jointed claws much better, because when a bass swipes at my bait, I want free swinging hooks, not ones tucked to the body

What bad things have you heard about the I slide?

Don't own or fish either.  Keeping it real fishing did a review on all the common glides.  In the 100 bracket for glides I chose a pizz drift.

If I could get one, I would in a heart beat but $70 out of my price range.

You could add a slide swimmer 175.  Got two on the bay for less than 50 each.

Savage Gear Shine Glide is the best <$50 bait out there imo. I sold all my 175 Slide Swimmers because I never fish them over the Shine Glides.

I've been really pleased with the performance of the GC and like the kokanee color for where I typically fish, but I've been a bit disappointed with the MB. It has a pretty paint job and a solid swimming action, but since I usually throw in open water the hooks holding up tight to the body doesn't help me. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I'd probably buy another GC or 2-3 Shine Glides or S-Wavers.

I have both baits & prefer the claw hands down. It’s a confidence builder because it gets bit.

Shine Glide first fish 3 lbs (peacock) no problem. Second fish, 13 lbs, Houston we have a problem. I might try again with a beefy front treble and removing the rear hook. I'm just glad it wasn't a big one heading for cover.

definitely agree the shine glide is the best sub $50 bait close second would be the s-waver i have seen a few jointed claws that have holes somewhere so i don't trust them i do like the i-slide though

Thank you Big Swimmer, my bad - the package says Glide Swimmer. I picked up a few S-wavers but will give the Shine Glide a go, new to glide baits but they sure do get bit whatever I'm fishing for.

What size Shine Glide are you guys fishing?  Bought one of the small 1oz ones and was not impressed with it the one time I had it out. I haven't fished it enough to really know anything but it seems to have a much less versatile range of movement as compared to the S-Waver.

Get the bigger Shine Glide, fishes much better. They are supposed to be coming out with a 10" size in the near future for those who are interested. I like the GanCraft but I usually shave the joints a little for a wider Glide , this is a bait that has done well for me in  the Perch color.

I suspected as much.  Is there a good glide in the 1oz range?  One that light would work on a couple of my rods and would see a ton of use.

They have a tiny deps and a tiny swaiver.  The glide is tight due to the small size and IMO big glides are where it's at.  The deps 250 is better than the 175, and the hinkle shad has the best glide I have seen.  My phoney is no slouch either, but in glides bigger is better in most cases.
