Mitch76 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Hello, im relatively new to fishing. I just started about 2 years ago after not fishing for about 30 years. Just thought id join up and see what else i can learn (off the water). Below is a pic of my best fish. I didnt get a chance to weigh it but my buddy that owns the land i was fishing on said he pulled an 8 pounder out a couple years ago and mine was way bigger. 2 Quote

That thing has a 5 gallon bucket for a mouth! 1 Quote

Mitch76 Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 Something i forgot to mention about this catch. I didnt take my good rig to my parents house that weekend and my stepdad had mentioned some old rigs in the barn. I found 2 Zebco 33's and an Ambassador. One of the Zebs had line on it but was locked up. I decided to take it apart and see if i could get it to work. After about 30 minutes of degreaser and and an air compressor i got it freed up. I greased and oiled it and got it to cast smooth. I fished for about an hour before landing the monster. When my stepdad got home he said he couldnt believe i caught a fish on that rig. Turns out, that was the first rig i caught a fish on when i was 7...im 41 now. It was purchased in the late 70s and never had the line replaced. Anyway, i realize there are much better stories out there, but im still in awe every time i think about it. 1 Quote

WELCOME! I can only wish to catch a LMB that big up in Idaho! You are correct. There are too many fish in that tank and they are all real skinny. This spring we are going to start transplanting all of the smaller ones to a larger tank on the property. This one wouldve been nice if he had any meat on his bones HAHA! Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 3, 2018 Super User Posted February 3, 2018 Welcome. The bass looks at least 12 pounds!!!!! 1 Quote
