I've been resistant to buying one of their reels but it looks like they're gaining some good traction. I'm going to pick a couple of their reels up to give them a try. Any recommendations on which model to try? I think I'll start with a 6.3:1 or 7.0:1 for my basic soft plastics setup.

I've put an Assassin through the paces last year, and really can't complain about it.  The dual breaking system is decent, it's light, and it's smooth enough.  It's nice than what most companies offer at the $80-$100 range.

My son has some stealths and assassins. He loves them and they're feather light. He uses them to punch, flip and swimbait with no issues. I tried to hate them but he was hell bent on trying one. All down hill from there.

I really like the Assassin and the Spartacus Plus. The Speed Demon is nice if you want really high speed, it's not the lightest reel, but true to it's name, it is really fast.

I was very skeptical at first, but I've abused the reels they gave me to try, and they've stood up to everything and keep going for me. Impressed me enough that I've bought a few with my own money and have been equally impressed by them, spinning and casting reels both.

Get yourself an Assassin. Out of all the Kastking BC's I own (White max, Spartacus, Stealth, Assassin, Speed Demon) it's my favorite.

Like @J Francho said it's light, smooth and the brakes are very forgiving of backlashes.

Purchased a stealth earlier this month. I wanted the higher speed over the Assassin, it"s almost as light and has a better magnetic brake. Been yard fishing with it twice, it now outcasts my Bps pro qualifier and Daiwa  Exceler substantially.. I really can't wait to actually fish with it. Glad to read J Franco's and Bluebasser comments.

Anything from the Stealth up is quite a bang for your buck. I love my Stealth and getting another Assassin for this spring.

Everyone knocks the royale legend but I have 3 and they have been fantastic for a $35 reel.

I have an Assassin, and have tried to abuse it since there's a minority of nay-sayers out there who think it won't.  I beat the heck out of it, flipping and pitching into heavy cover and wrenching big fish out it. I used it on every outing last year.

It took it and kept coming back for more; even with the drag locked all the way down. With over 16lbs of drag, you really don't need to do that, but I wanted to see if the washers would warp.  They didn't.

I've got 4 - 2 Demons & 2 Assassins. Like Glenn said above, I have beat the crap out of them without issues. Great customer service too. I bought my first Assassin & it came with a nice fitted reel cover. The 2nd one I bought did not. I sent an email asking if I could get one. Got a response in about 10 min that it was a short term promo item & not available on the current ones. But they asked for my address & in about 3 days I received one in the mail for free. I hope they make an HD swimbait reel some day.

I like mine as well but the only downside for me is it feels a bit larger in the hand. It's not as low profile as my other baitcasters.

Look into the Spartacus Maximus.

WOW! It's great to see that KastKing has come such a long way and now is being used in Bassmaster  Elite competition. I have been following them for a while and creep these posts often. They keep on impressing me and these comments further validate what they are doing.
