GoneFishingLTN Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I have a 6foot 6 inch kvd crankbait rod is this also good for jerkbaits? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 23, 2018 Super User Posted January 23, 2018 It'll work. I prefer a faster taper, like X-Fast, but many like the slower action of a cranking stick. 1 Quote
MDBowHunter Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 As stated above it will work, but with the moderate taper thats in a cranking rod your going to lose a lot of the action in the jerkbait that you would get from an Xtra fast tip. Your really going to have to give the rod hard jerks because most of your jerks will be absorbed in the rod instead of transitioning to the lure. Quote

Also, unless you're tall or your boat's a deep V, you'll probably be slapping the water with a 7' rod. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted January 23, 2018 Super User Posted January 23, 2018 Light, finesse baits. Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 Sorry for being such trouble but would it be ok for drop shoting? Even if I used 1/2 oz Quote

Even if I used 1/2 oz If you're referring to the spinning rod, yes it would work for a drop shot, even with a heavier weight since you're usually not casting a drop shot much. Quote
