It'll work.  I prefer a faster taper, like X-Fast, but many like the slower action of a cranking stick.

As stated above it will work, but with the moderate taper thats in a cranking rod your going to lose a lot of the action in the jerkbait that you would get from an Xtra fast tip. Your really going to have to give the rod hard jerks because most of your jerks will be absorbed in the rod instead of transitioning to the lure.

I'd say the most commonly used jerkbaits weigh 1/2-5/8 oz, so that rod's probably underpowered. Also, unless you're tall or your boat's a deep V, you'll probably be slapping the water with a 7' rod.

Ok makes sense...what would that rod be best suited for?

Sorry for being such trouble but would it be ok for drop shoting? Even if I used 1/2 oz

If you're referring to the spinning rod, yes it would work for a drop shot, even with a heavier weight since you're usually not casting a drop shot much.
