Super User everythingthatswims Posted January 19, 2018 Super User Posted January 19, 2018 Next week, there is a BASS College Series event on Toledo Bend, and I am departing from WVU tomorrow to make the journey down south to see what I can do. I am extremely excited. College bass fishing is so cool, it gives me an opportunity to go fish world class places like Toledo when I may never have the chance to do it again in my life! My professors are all awesome and have been very helpful in terms of sending material to me and letting me know what I need to do in order to stay on track, I am very thankful for that. I will be practicing Sunday-Wednesday, the tournament is Thursday-Friday and Saturday is cut day, hopefully I will be fishing then too! It took 28lbs to win the Texas Team Trail event there on the 13th, 2nd was 27lbs, 3rd was 26lbs. 19lbs was sitting in 18th place The forecast shows a stable warming trend, and I am really hoping that these fish are ready to chew since they've been cold for a little while now with this crazy weather. I will do my best to post a couple reports from practice, although I get really into it so I may forget. No specific info in the comments please! There is a no information rule this year, which I am a huge fan of 9 Quote
CroakHunter Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Good luck! Hope they're biting whatever it is you are throwing! I bet it will be a great experience Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 19, 2018 Global Moderator Posted January 19, 2018 I fished with a member of the Kansas State University fishing team a couple weeks ago who will be there fishing as well and was really excited to go. That's a cool opportunity for you guys to get to experience. Hope everyone has a good time and catches some of those Toledo giants! 2 Quote

RichF Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 What an awesome opportunity. I wish college bass was more prominent when I was in school. Go crush em' and make the BR community proud!! Quote

Super User Sam Posted January 26, 2018 Super User Posted January 26, 2018 Nolan and his partner are in 69th place with four bass for 8-8 on the first day. Leader is a team from Louisiana Monroe with five fish for 20-13. There must be over 250 fishing the tournament so 69th place is pretty darn good. You can follow the tournament at this web site: https://www.bassmaster.com/leaderboard/tournaments/2018-college-central 5 Quote
Hurricane Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Nice day 2 man.... good luck tomorrow! Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 27, 2018 Super User Posted January 27, 2018 Nolan and Casey are up to 37th place, one pound from being in the 29th position. They had a great day 2 and have a total of 25-8 for both days. Wisconsin-Platteville jumped into first place via their big fish, pushing Louisiana Monroe down to second. I have no idea if Nolan and Casey made the cut but I know we all hope they did. Geaux Nolan and Casey!!!!! Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 27, 2018 Super User Posted January 27, 2018 Front moved in pouring down rain but still warm! Y'all Kick Bass ? 1 Quote
