My son and me do saltwater too. Mostly for Reds, sheephead , flounder and black drum.

I also fish for whiting , croakers, etc. when the others are slow.

I also love surf fishing.

Been fishing saltwater for well over 20 years now. I fish for inshore, reef, and offshore species. Sharks in the +8 feet category are my probably my favorite fish to target if I want something that fights hard and hogfish are my favorite fish to catch to take home to eat.

We're pretty limited on saltwater access here in Kansas.

I'm jealous of your 26 degrees, it hadn't been that warm out here for well over a week until yesterday.

living on the space coast I go a couple times a month. cold weather we've had has slowed the snook bite a little but overall fishing is really good.

About 5 months ago, I'd have told you "not me, just my boys."

But son #3 convinced me to go striper fishing with him and it

changed my life, LOL. And then there's the sheer unknown of

what you might catch with salt. I've really come to enjoy it

way more than I thought I ever would.

Now I have been deep sea fishing a few times in the 90s, that

was awesome, too, but I found I did NOT like the rolling ocean,

so not done much of that since. As long as I can see land, I'm

pretty good to go. And I do all this out of a kayak, as well. And

I have fished some local docks with the boys a few times over

the years, but none of it swayed me from fresh water...until now.

I grew up in-shore salt water fishing.  I just got into bass fishing the past few years.  I still salt water fish, but I probably bass fish more.  Something about trying to figure out how to catch that little green fish just fascinates me.

Yeah @Darren. -- you're in trouble now!

@ThatredneckguyJamieThough I have a big issue with your college football allegiance...

...the answer to your question is a resounding YES!

I'm lucky enough to have my folks retired in Hilton Head so I've targeted and caught just about everything the Low Country has to offer inshore.  Reds, trout, mackeral, cobia, sheepshead, tarpon, flounder, sharks, jacks.

The family and I typically end up in PCB in the fall and I take that opportunity to both fish nearshore as well as wade the flats at St Andrews Park.  All types of snapper and grouper, amberjacks, kings, spanish, triggerfish, tripletail, mahi from the boat and trout and reds by foot.

Also been lucky enough to fish Sebastian, Miami, Orange Beach, Boston, St Lucia and a few other locations.  The part that really irritates me is that the place where I've had the least fishing success by guide and by foot is Key West (the friggin' "sportfishing capital of the world"!).  I'm very eager to add snook and permit to my caught species list.

Planning a fishing trip for my 40th this year.  Venice, LA is on the short list.

"Clean, old-fashioned hate" will always divide us, but at least we can agree that saltwater fishing is great :)

I usually go fishing for snook and reds at least two times a week.

I now live right on boca grand the Tarpon capital of the world.

I live on the east side of the Franklin Locks on the Caloosahatchee. I am fortunate enough to catch bass and snook at the same spot. I often trailer the boat to Pine Island and saltwater fish. Going back as soon as the wind calms a bit.

Bass are fun to catch, but pound for pound these fight much harder.

I've been going back and forth on this whole Venice LA deal...talked to a lot of people that said it is all it's cracked up to be..but others will say anywhere in the Gulf is just as good if not better. One thing about LA is the limit is definitely higher...I'd love to be able to keep 5 slot reds for the cast iron skillet
