I use the bait below. What's cool about these is they always run true, the wire is incredibly strong and you can bend and twist it all you want and it goes back to form and the hook part is actually attached by a collar and is one of their jigs so it's like two baits in one really. Also, the part where you tie your line is a closed loop so your knot won't slide anywhere.

I   dont see a lot of difference in spinnerbait brands . I choose by weight ,   blade design and a ball bearing swivel .I  have bought spinnerbaits for a quarter a piece on clearance that had ball bearing swivels .

@scaleface there like a lipless crankbait, different wire type and diameters give off different vibrations. And fish may prefer a different vibe on any given day. I prefer a thin wire bait, but posted this to see what else I don't have is being productive for guys. But like always the first goal is to be where the fish are.

I have as much luck with strike king as any other.  It seems like for me the spinner bait bite is either on or it ain't.  I go back and forth from thinking spinner baits are terrible and wonder why they exist, to loving them the next day.

I did well last spring with a small strike king spinnerbait. Gold Colorado blade with a yellow skirt.

This year I plan to experiment with gold willow blades and white/chartreuse skirts.

For this old plastics fisherman, this is greatly expanding my horizons!

Old school here as you know. I bought my first spinnerbaits back in the early 70's. Fleck was the No. 1 manufacturer of them back then. Been using them successfully ever since. Inexpensive and effective. Being as they are still produced today, makes you wonder how far off can they be, right. :)

My favorite is not made anymore. It was a brand called Bulldog. I believe they were around in the eighties. Now I mostly throw War Eagle.

I really don't have a favorite manufacturer.  I use Strike King, Booyah, BPS, and some that are made locally.  As far as the skirts go, I look for one that has a lot of material in it, and is fairly flexible.

My favorite spinnerbaits have been War Eagle's screamin eagle, Terminator t1 and in some situations the Booyah pond magic and Tiny t1 have been fantastic. Also wanted to mention that this past summer I added some Eco Pro Tungsten Rapid Fire's and they worked out great.

As for replacement skirts my main choices have been War Eagle and SK perfect skirts. I keep wanting to get some Lumaflex skirts to try but just haven't done so for some odd reason.

Manns Hank Parker Classic spinnerbaits. White(blue glimmer skirt) or chartreuse skirt. Double Indiana gold blades. Or Colorado twin blades or one big blade. It’s all about that thump, that thump. Clear water, stained water, muddy waters it’s still the thump.

Any 1/8 oz, 3/16oz, 1/4oz dirt cheap white or chartreuse spinnerbaits.

i think my setup is the key to my success. I use the mister twister 4” split double tail grub trailer. I trim the front of the body to fit the hook. I add a trailer hook. A shot of shad scent and then I drown it.

fact you must assemble the grub trailer to the spinnerbaits so it runs vertical without turning or spinning out of control. You have to learn this. i have a supply of blue glimmer replacement skirts. When I change the chartreuse skirts I put on the hot chartreuse skirts.

dont forget to use the sight line to your advantage too. Above the sight line means you can see the spinnerbait. Below the sight line the spinnerbait is gone from your view. Sometimes the bass are finicky and won’t come up to strike the spinnerbait. You slow up the speed so the spinnerbait runs below the sight line in the basses face they can’t refuse it.  I’m a shore fisherman and if it works for me it will work for anyone. Don’t let that little pea brain out think you. Stay motivated and focused.

i still have to thank Glenn for staying with me, helping me to get spinnerbaits to work for me. This was back when this site was new.

Trust me when I say this. If you're not catching anything on those SK spinnerbaits, changing to another brand isn't going to improve your success rate. Yes, I have a favorite, but if I throw it in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong retrieve speed and depth, I guarantee it won't catch anything.

True, its all about confidence. And I don't have much in the SK baits lol. Been catching them pretty good on the Santone Got 5 bait.
