Update: just got all my gear from mudhole.

 

I have found the spine of the rod.

 

With the spine, does that go on the outside of the rod on a spinning rod? 

Ex. Reel is below and spine on top? Thank you!

 

Or is spine always on top?

The spine can go on either side.  Some would argue that building on the straightest axis would be the best way.  I would put the spine on the top opposite the guides and reel.

so basically when looking at your spinning rod when fishing the spine is on top?
