TheUltimateAngler777 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 If you could be sponsored by any reel company, what would it be?
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 The one offering unlimited equipment and paying me to use it. Kidding aside they all make good models. 4
Dtrombly Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Lews has my favorite reel to date, Tournament MB. But as a whole I like Daiwas lineup the best. I'd choose Daiwa. 2

WI_Angler1989 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I've had really good experiences with Pflueger and Shimano reels. I currently use Shimano mostly, but still have a couple Presidents in use.
crypt Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Abu Garcia..............I like round reels..........
Super User JustJames Posted January 13, 2018 Super User Posted January 13, 2018 I like them all as long as it is not plastic junk and copy cat.
Outdoors Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Shimano and Daiwa. Probably Shimano the most because of their DC reels.
Super User Further North Posted January 13, 2018 Super User Posted January 13, 2018 For gear fishing...no real preference, other than reels being a great example of "You get what you pay for". Fly reels, easy choice: Lamson.
CroakHunter Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Daiwa. They could set me up with fuego combos and I'd be pleased
RPreeb Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I have exactly 2 reels. One Diawa baitcaster, and one Shimano spinning reel. My next buy will be another Diawa baitcaster, so I guess my answer is Diawa.
Super User Gundog Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 This thread makes me think about something. What happened to Quantum reels? I owned 2 accurists that were great. I still have one. Quality reels. Did Diawa and Shimano just outpace them or has Quantum's quality gone downhill in just 4 or 5 years? Quantum just doesn't seem to be as popular lately.

I don't know that the quality is genuinely that drastically different; Though it is better in my opinion. But at the end of the day they've definitely done a better job with marketing, and coming out with "shiny new" products keeping them in the forefront of everyones mind when they go ahead to buy a new reel. 1
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 I’m not really brand loyal. When I am looking at a new reel I check the reviews from other people that have used the reel.
Super User Further North Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 Quantum smoke ? Great reels. Way under rated. 1
Way north bass guy Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I’m also not brand loyal. I have just about every brand out there, although I’ve owned more quantums over the years than anything else. Still have a few that are over 20 years old and still going strong.
Super User lmbfisherman Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 Shimano. Three BPS PQ reels I relegated to back up duty or lender setups.
Super User burrows Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 OP said whats your favorite reel company if I'm not mistaken not your top five or first second third best reel?
Super User the reel ess Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 Lews has my favorite reel to date, Tournament MB. But as a whole I like Daiwas lineup the best. I'd choose Daiwa. I have three of that Lew's reel and it's a great reel with a lot of features at that price point. But yeah, Daiwa has so impressed me with customer service I'd buy their reels if I could justify the cost. The sent me free parts three times on a very old Procaster reel. They didn't even reply to the emails, just sent the parts free.
