BASSEDOUT Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 what's the best way to melt plastisol for pouring worm/creature/etc. that's not a microwave? or am I thinking about this way too much and should just use a microwave? Quote
Tim Kelly Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Use a microwave. It's not rocket science. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted January 9, 2018 Super User Posted January 9, 2018 You can use a hot plate and pans but it is real easy to scorch it that way. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 9, 2018 Global Moderator Posted January 9, 2018 Microwave. Hotplates are the other option but like @Jig Man said you're likely to scorch and waste a bunch of material. Quote

Just heat more than you need, keep yhe thermal properties on your side. That way it doesnt require constant heat. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 14, 2018 Super User Posted March 14, 2018 Anything will work that can heat the plastic to like 350 degrees but like others have said an old microwave is easy. Start with 1 minute then use 30 second intervals until you get good pours. Allen Quote
Driftwoodlures Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Microwave is the quickest. If I'm shooting a lot of baits, I heat in the microwave and then pour into a fry daddy to keep a consistent temperature due to the large amount of plastic. Quote
