bugbee77 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Invizx felt great to me but I was sort of disappointed. Felt weaker than red label and seemed to backlash more. But since it is thinner than red label you can size up the line with no diameter change. I love it for cranking and spinnerbaits but not for flipping or jigs, which I throw most.  I really liked the Berkley 100%. I get to fish 5-6 times a week and I had to change the red label once a week and the invizx lasted longer but still died pretty quick. I got the berkley and put on some KVD line condition and had line last a month and a half on my most used rods. Quote
snake95 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 @thinkingredneck can you elaborate on why you prefer the YoZuri?  I have been using it for the past couple of years after reading posts by Roadwarrior, but have to admit I use braid and mono more. I also use it as a leader when using braid.  I have considered switching the other way to floro, so I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the comparison.  I like the knot strength I get with YoZuri. I don't dislike it, but it is a little on the stiff side for me. RyneB Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I have tried Tatsu, Sniper, and Invisx. But I use Red Label. I can get a 1,000 yd spool for under $50. While those other lines are great lines, I didn't notice such an advantage to justify the extra cost. I fish A LOT. Fun fishing and tournaments. I will go through a couple 1,000 yd spools of fluoro a year. I just can't afford to do that with those more expensive ones. Also, KVD line an lure conditioner is a must. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Hola DBC32 and welcome to Bass Resource! My favorite fluorocarbon? Vanilla Bean followed closely by Butter Pecan... (Seriously though, as you've already seen you will get a variety of answers. Just like you would if you asked for everyone's favorite ice cream flavor!)  I use 10# fluorocarbon on a baitcaster and have tried a bunch of different ones and none have been perfect, but none have been horrible either. I'm currently using Seaguar Red Label because for $11/200yd spool at Walmart it's really pretty good! Only thing I don't like is it's not very abrasion resistant. I found Invizx to be stretchier than Red Label and didn't like it as well. Abrazx was more abrasion resistant but didn't handle as well as Red Label. Sunline Sniper gave me odd random break-offs (bad spool?). Gander Mountain brand was too thick in 10# and didn't handle as well.  So for now it's Red Label. I only use about 100 yards a month so it's very cost effective. But I'm VERY curious to try Tatsu, just haven't been able to click the "Place Order" button yet........ Quote

Super User WRB Posted January 9, 2018 Super User Posted January 9, 2018 I no longer use FC line after 25 years of use do to knot failures and cost of respooling line often weakening from use/stretch. Gamma Edge is the same price per 200yds as Seaguar Tatsu @ $40, it's also .002 larger in diameter per lb test than Tatsu, Sunline Sniper and Silver Thread. Silver Thread is .001 larger from 10 to 14 test then Seaguar and Sunline, $18.50 per 200 yards. Diameter matters with memory issues, the larger it is the more memory and casting issue it has. Always compare line lb test to it's diameter if you want to compare apples to apples. Tom Quote

Now my question to you is which Sunline flourocarbon should I use since it would used for a main line for traps, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits, and cranks? Quote

hawgenvy Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I usually spool up with Seaguar Invisx.  I tried Tatsu once and snagged a tree behind me on my first time out with it and the bird's nest was so bad I had to cut out the whole spool. That's $50 for a 200 yard spool of Tatsu. I was stomping and cursing. And, honestly, I can't tell the difference between Tatsu and Invisx. Tatsu is so costly that you can end up worrying about it when you're supposed to be out fishing for fun. Or maybe you'll be reluctant to re-spool it when you should. So I won't buy it again. Same for Gamma Edge and some other super pricey lines. (I always wonder what the cost of manufacturing that stuff is -- probably 10 cents per mile.) Braid is expensive, too, but at least it'll last a couple of seasons. Quote
