I want to get a Dobyns 765 for dt10s, dt16s, 5XDs, and 6XDs. I'm stuck between the graphite and the glass and I don't know which is a better option.

Do you prefer glass or graphite rods? That alone should make your decision for you.

I personally prefer graphite and I own the 765cb and it's my favorite DT10 rod. I wouldn't throw a DT16 or 6xd with it though. I'd want something a little bit more powerful for those.

I prefer graphite as well.  I like the gains in detecting what I'm running my bait through.  I don't feel is as well with glass.

805cb is the best all around medium and deep diving crank rod imo.

Can it still cast lighter crankbaits like dt10s easily or is it too much?

I don't use the DT series but I throw 5xds, 6xds and even 3/4oz traps on it. It's not a broomstick at all. Also handles the 10xd really well. As another option, I'll throw the irod Genesis II Fred's Crank Launcher in the mix. Really love this rod. It has a really nice tip and can also handle just about medium or deep crank.
