Super User buzzed bait Posted January 2, 2018 Super User Posted January 2, 2018 Does anyone here know what the 100B Curado reels were rated for on the drag? I have the box and papers that came with mine and it’s not listed on there. I’ve tried a quick search on the web and nothing…. Just curious if anyone might know. Thanks! Quote
The Bassman Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Probably 6-8 lbs. I own two. Saw the same post on TT. Don't be too concerned about specifics. Too much emphasis is placed on drag strength. I replaced the old drag washers with carbontex and they're more than adequate. Quote

The Bassman Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I love mine, too. They're a little heavier and sit higher, but I find myself reaching for them all the time. One has a Chronarch 50 MG spool with a Chronarch 200E handle. It holds its own against any of my newer stuff. The other is actually a JDM Scorpion 1000. It comes stock with the MG spool. I added a 90 mm carbon handle to it. The short stock handles that came with these reels are the one thing I didn't like at all. Quote

OnthePotomac Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Shimano says the 100B has a drag of 8lbs. I have three and never figured why they did not include the data on their box brochure. Not a big deal though because I never fish for whales. 1 Quote

I thought for sure they would have it published in the manual or on the box, but I looked hard and never did find it! Quote
