Hair Jigs and Ned rigs kept me busy on the Quabbin from April through June.

I saw a lot of your posts. You sure got some good smallies last year. Would you share your hair jigs with me?

edit: share brand, colors etc...I don't expect you to actually send me your jigs lol

Smokinal, I mold, paint and tie them. Open links for pics and info from previous posts:

The past several winters I've been learning how to use different lead free alloys in "no lead" Massachusetts, improving powder painting technique, and getting a grip (so to speak) on tying bucktail and other materials that come under the "hair jig" category.

It's all very time consuming but also gratifying to see improvement and to unhook a good smallie from my winter's work.

Nicely Done ~

Plenty of Great Smallies taken from water that see a fair amount of pressure.

Here's to a productive 2018.

I did - my Dad took me out when I was a kid. 4 times I think.

Two trips - two summers in a row in the rental boats.  The Q was the biggest water I'd been on up to that point.

My Dad was a bank beater so that's pretty much all we did.  I was 'lost'.

Still managed to get a mix of one pound lmb & smb and a few over sized crappie (Calico bass according to Dad)

First time I'd used live hellgrammite for bait.

Pretty cool! Seems like a nice lake, Mr. Wetline certainly does damage up there
