I was killing time in a a local used tackle shop in town and saw these.  The plug, I can't fully identify but the Worths bait I distinctly remember from 1980 to 1982-ish. I remember Stan Fagerstrom featuring it in a sports column.

I remember Stan and also have heard the name Worth before but never heard of the Aquacone.  The lure on the left reminds me of a river runt but I don't think it is.

I have seen the lure on the left before, but I don't know what it's called.  Love the price on the lure on the right.

What I like about these vintage baits is how the thought process is evident but the design technology isn't. The hard bait is an attempt to be a wake bait like the Ima Rumba.  The Worth's features a model on the back that is like a punch skirt and the other a sled head. The evolution of lures is amazing to me. I've two more to post later.

I always checkout my local mom and pop bait shop for clearances. They have a section of older, some dusty marked down baits. I sometimes drop $50 on the older baits. The problem is to me that some of this stuff is collectable sooner or later. Do I use it or stash it away?

i been collecting early plastic baits too. There not refined like the baits of today.

I am getting a stash of older stuff.  Picked up some old plugs antiquing with my wife.  I always look for antique tackle/lures and tools.

$2.59 was probably pretty pricey for its day.

I fish some of my old finds. Found a half card of doll flys and full card of sassy shad and old beetle jig spins and was throwin em the next day. Black broke back jitterbug went straight in rotation. I'm convinced quite a few boxes I find got retired due to pork spills.
