My nephew swears by gummy bears as panfish bait.  He says they get as many hits as powerbait and stay on the hook far longer.   His pro move is to bite the heads off to give a small profile bait.

TIG welding. Very clean (free from spatter), best choice for repairs and I don't have change out spools of wire if I'm going from stainless to mild steel, just grab different rod. I do prefer to sharpen my tungsten on a diamond wheel or belt sander, it's a pain in the butt with a 2" buffer 120 grit pad. (Finish with a 240 if you can).....
